| Summary: | The aircraft crashed in flames approximately 200 ft. past the end of the runway while attempting to take off. The plane was overloaded by several hundred pounds and the weight improperly distributed, causing the pilot to lose control of the aircraft. R&B singer and actress Aaliyah Haughton, 22, was among those killed. Traces of cocaine and alcohol were found during the autopsy of the pilot. The plane was overloaded. |
